ACT records music for latest play, "The Women"

A Contemporary Theatre has been in the studio recording music for their lastest work, "The Women". Previews for the show begin October 5-October 10th with the show officially opening October 11th. It will run until December 2nd.

"Sharpen your claws: In this super-stylish, venomously funny 1930s comedy, a baker’s dozen of Seattle’s top actresses play a group of gleefully backstabbing women who confront marriage, gossip, divorce and friendship—all over a manicure. Beneath the tart tongues and arched eyebrows is a serious consideration of the not-so-good-old days, and of what women are left with when culture strips them of power. You’ve come a long way, baby. Mee-ow."

Great Records Are Made At Chroma Sound

Congratulations to The Valley for the fantastic response of their self-titled 6 song EP recorded at Chroma this summer. As featured in Seattle Sound Magazine, The Valley's self-released EP is number one on John Richard's list of The 5 for this month.

"This is the band's follow up to it's 2005 debut. Six monster songs that may be the loudest and most impressive local offering this year. A total wall of sound that isn't just noise for noise's sake, but, just like in the glory days of Seattle's past, is bast in solid songwriting that backs the explosion."

The EP releases October 2nd. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thevalleyrules

After a painful six month ordeal, the new tape machine is finally up and running. The Studer 827 has been fully operational for about a month now, and sounds fantastic.

We've also put in an Aviom headphone system, which is a real breeze to use. 16 channel stereo operation for each player to create an individual mix with.

Beyond that, it's been business as usual. There are many good things taking shape for early 2006... we'll be sure to keep you posted.

Alright, what kind of news department goes un-updated for five months? There are stories to tell! Jeff Fielder's new record Last Disguise is done, done, done. Garth Reeves' new record is almost done, and Kristen Ward's is well on its way.

What else? We now have a Fender Rhodes in the studio, as well as four new combo organs: two Voxes, a Farfisa and a Fender Contempo. And the Studer A827 is supposed to show up tomorrow.

Other than that, it's business as usual. Rusty Willoughby and Kurt Bloch are overdubbing guitars as I type...
